A PHYSICAL séance is focused primarily on overtly visual, audible or demonstrated activity. Unexplained activity that can not be explained by any other physical means than spirit.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Experienced members and medium gathered in the séance area, a room which had been checked and laid out specifically for the investigation. On a long centrally placed table had been put out a pre-selected set of objects, which had been chosen for the overt way in which attention could be drawn to them upon interaction. None of the objects should have made any noise or have been prone to any movement without actual physical touch.
The séance began with the medium in trance. Information was relayed between spirits and sitters via the medium. References to personality traits, specific appearance details and individual likes or dislikes came through first and then if accepted as relevant for a member, more detailed messages were then passed on to them. ORBS during this period could be seen in the form of small unexplained round disks of light that each lasted but a few seconds.
The medium spoke of a gentleman in spirit, the partial name of a title from one of his literary works was given and then a more detailed reference to a person believed to be a Herman Melville (born Melvill; August 1, 1819 – September 28, 1891) an American novelist, short story writer and a poet of the American Renaissance period. In the séance he spoke about independence being a noble asset, it made a person think about not what is only attainable but what in the long distance is achievable. Thinking about the future seemed to resonate strongly for the gentleman, as did a sense of family. Research has shown, after the séance was held, that among his best-known works are Typee (1846), a romantic account of his experiences of Polynesian life, and his masterpiece Moby-Dick (1851).
SMELLS were depicted by the séance. The members collectively noted a distinct highly perfumed, floral scent in the room. It lasted strongly for a few minutes and permeated the air. It was interesting to note as while this was being experienced, the medium spoke about a female in spirit as having been present at the séance. A lady, who due to the information which was given in the investigation, could be accepted as a personally known family member to several of the members in the séance. It was explained afterwards that the smell could be associated to the same validated lady in spirit, as both a scent worn by her and one that brought back a very familiar memory for the specific sitters.
A SUMMARY was made of what had been experienced and observed during the physical séance. It was the messages and corresponding physical activity of smell which did appear to resonate extremely strongly for the séance. It did seem personally relevant that the two interactions of spoken message and physical activity did link but for the investigation the appeal of the evidence was also significant. This was thought to be pertinent evidence because of the specific purpose of the sentiment in which it was expressed to the members who could accept the message. It was useful to have the collectively observed physical activity as a following evidence of both the spirit speaker and what was deemed as personally meaningful to the recipient sitters.
