A literary physical séance.
A physical séance is often able to have visual or action reference to unexplained activity. Many of the instances of claimed sightings, audio or sense of spirit can be easily noted and then used for investigation.
In the physical séance all the checks were made as to the room where the sitting would be held and as to the members who would be able to sit for physical activity. In a low lit room and with chosen objects set out the physical séance started. It was not too long, a twenty minutes into the séance, when members started to claim a cool temperature in the room. It was a quick and unexplained alteration in the temperature of only a minute before. The medium had talked of two spirits in the séance. The spirits, she said, were male and both had a similar link to interests in life.
Unexplained activity was noted in and around when the medium started to reference the first of the two spirits. Orbs were seen three times, these unexplained small lights were claimed beside members in the séance. The lights were seen as the cool temperature was felt. There were two male voices which could be heard as if in conversation but the members could not depict the word or phrases which were said. The voices were hushed whispers and sounded as if they were coming from inside the séance. It was then that members asked for confirmation of spirit presence and cracks started to be heard from different parts of the room.
The medium noted the two spirits but said that one stepped forward as first to be referenced. It was a male who appeared young and well dressed, he was debonair and stated the letter O. The spirit went on to link with literary ambitions, he talked of his aims which he met in life and his need to prove that it was right that one should be who they were without any attempt to cover their true personality. Wilde and Wills or Willis was given as a surname and that made the research easy as Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) did link with a lot of the information and had an anniversary which at that time was a possible explanation as for why he was noted. Oscar Wilde was an Irish playwright, he was a notable novelist, he wrote poems and was an essayist. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he founded thoughts on why literature was important to society. Wilde became one of London’s most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. Remembered for his epigrams, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, his plays, as well as the circumstances of his imprisonment and early death.
A physical séance which saw unexplained activity the temperature did go back to what it should be as the spirit information finished. There was a few minutes when Orbs were noted again. The medium started to reference the second spirit and it was then that cracking noises could be heard again all over the séance.
The medium said there was a male spirit and he was claimed as an Irving. A man who wrote, had notable position within literary society and achieved many literary aims. Washington Irving (April 3, 1783 – November 28, 1859) is believed to be the spirit talked of in the séance, he was an American author, an essayist, a historian, a biographer and diplomat of the early 19th century. He was known for his short stories “Rip Van Winkle” in (1819) and for other notable classic novels. In the séance the spirit came in on an anniversary link. The month was important for him and the medium said that it was this link that he would like to be mentioned. In research it is shown that Washington Irving has an anniversary for a passing on 28 November which was only a few days from that of when the physical séance sat for activity.
A séance which had unexplained noise, sighting and links to information about individuals. The séance was of interest because it brought into thought and connection two men who had similar interests in life, they achieved a lot of literary aims and were known to have had an influence on thoughts about conduct in society. Two men who in spirit were referenced, there was a lot of activity which was noted as their links were being mentioned and it was of interest that their anniversary dates of passing were only a two days apart from each other.
