Physical séance into spirit activity.
In this recent physical séance there was a lot of interest in the physical activity which was noted. About half an hour into the investigation there were claims of noises, members could depict cracks and the noise of someone walking in an unoccupied part of the séance.
The séance itself was cool. It was odd that moments before the same area had been relatively warm but within a few minutes it was cool enough for members to start to note the difference in the temperature. Little orbs – small circular lights were noted in the séance. These lights were seen twice, once as one light near to the medium and another time as two of the lights were spotted over one of the objects. The light phenomena lasted for a few seconds each time.
The medium spoke of a female spirit who loved to act. A performer since childhood, the lady was someone that loved the lights of a theatre. You felt alive, she said, when you had the attention on you and the light lit you up. May was mentioned as a link for her and she was someone who said she would like to be known of in spirit. It is thought that Joan Crawford (born Lucille Fay LeSueur; March 23, 1904 – some sources list 1903, 1905, 1906 or 1908 – May 10, 1977 was an American film, television actress and notable public figure who started as a dancer and stage chorine, it is from research that it is felt this lady was the spirit who was claimed in the séance.
Beginning her career as a dancer and traveling the theatrical companies before debuting as a chorus girl on Broadway, Crawford signed a motion picture contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1925. In the séance the members noted that there was a lot of interesting smells, perfume came through at one point and then quickly this was replaced with another unknown but perfume like smell, flowery notes in the smells had the séance guessing what the smell could be and after naming several flowers, there was one which once said had the smell disappearing after only a few seconds.
Members talked about how one of the sitters looked different, almost as if someone else was sitting on top of her, overshadowed features were seen to not be as her own should have been. Although we were sat in a dim light it was interesting that for a four to five minutes the sitter did look different in appearance. It was not as if the sitter had altered in her own physical appearance but as if someone had placed a semi translucent image of someone else over her.
The spirit talked through the medium about life as an actress, you were given your parts and you had to do the best you could, be who people thought you should be. Crawford often played hardworking young women who find romance and also success. These stories were well received by Depression-era audiences and were popular with female crowds. Crawford became one of Hollywood’s most prominent movie icons and one of the highest paid women in the United States. There was a lull in her career but in 1945 she became well known again by starring in Mildred Pierce, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
The séance was able to listen as the voice of the medium altered, the voice which came from the medium had a different tone and an enunciated effort in it. Being an actress required dedicated effort, the female voice said, as in life you are only appreciated for what people know you to do and you have to put on a show sometimes to have people know what you are saying.
There was a few minutes when the séance was quiet and then the medium linked to a male spirit, someone who was a leader and a man who lead countries. With a birthdate anniversary he spoke of a life led with politics at his heart. The séance was able to link information with the name of James.
James VI and I (19 June 1566 – 27 March 1625) was King of Scotland as James VI from 24 July 1567, King of England and Ireland as James I from the union of the Scottish and English crowns on 24 March 1603 until his death. This is the man who is thought from research is the same as the one claimed in the physical séance. The kingdoms of Scotland and England were individual sovereign states, each had their own parliaments, judiciary, and laws, though both were ruled by James in personal union.
James was the son of Mary, Queen of Scots, the name of Mary was mentioned in the séance as was Henry who was mentioned twice over. In life James was the great-great-grandson of Henry VII, King of England and Lord of Ireland (through both his parents), uniquely positioning him to eventually accede to all three thrones. James succeeded to the Scottish throne at the age of thirteen months, after his mother Mary was compelled to abdicate in his favour and in the séance it was with the name of Mary that there were several claims of activity from members. There were claims of a white light at one side of the séance. There were also noises of feet and doors slamming but there were no doors to be slammed in the séance. Four different regents governed during James’s minority, which ended officially in 1578, though he did not gain full control of his government until 1583. In spirit the medium talked of a male who was dressed in rich apparel. The spirit talked of his title, his seat being the last of his nobility. It was in 1603, he succeeded the last Tudor monarch of England and Ireland, Elizabeth I, who died without issue. James continued to reign in all three kingdoms for 22 years, a period known as the Jacobean era after him, until his death in 1625 at the age of 58. In the séance the spirit spoke of his aim to lead three lands and to have a peaceful nation, it was after the Union of the Crowns, he based himself in England (the largest of the three realms) from 1603, only returning to Scotland once in 1617, and styled himself “King of Great Britain and Ireland”. James was a major advocate of a single parliament for both England and Scotland. Once again the séance was cool as the medium spoke of this man who thought that a man was only as good as his principles. If you lead with foresight then your country gains a land full of wealth in morality and spirituality. In his reign, the Plantation of Ulster and British colonisation of the Americas began…in the séance the spirit spoke of lands new and even asked if the members were aware of what policies could accomplish when lands were at war.
It was an interesting séance and an investigation which had information about two notable figures of whom the public knew. It was a séance which lead to historical analysis and the combined speeches, dates, names and activity caused a lot of intrigue as to why spirits appeared in a séance.
