It was a very interesting investigation that saw several emotional and yet light hearted reunions in direct messages that were received during the séance itself. Poignant and claimed as pertinent by the recipients, the physical séance focused on spirit given messages and conversations for the first half of the time set investigation. Validations were given as for accuracy of information and references, both for the spirit individual and the recipients of the messages. Notable within these time frames were memories, object based evidence and habitual pastime references.
The séance was conducted in a closed and prepared room. The séance saw the medium in a trance, both with closed and later open eyes, whereby spirits were detailed. At one point while a spirit and a particular anniversary was being noted verbally, a loud noise was heard over where the door was situated.
There were smells and these occurrences took place subsequent to the naming and referencing of a specific individual in spirit. The sitters who knew the spirit and had been related to the person in life were able to claim the scent as a loved and known one meaningfully linked to them.
The medium referred to a gentleman in spirit and the name associated with a person believed to be a John Ernst Steinbeck Jr. (February 27, 1902 – December 20, 1968) an American author. In research it has been found out after the séance that he won the 1962 Nobel Prize in Literature and has been called a giant in his composition of American letters. Many of his works are considered classics of Western literature. In the séance the gentleman spoke of his own memories, of how fiction can be sometimes grounded in facts. A gentle smile was described by the medium as the speech came forth. An anniversary was spoken about. Gentle came up again as a word that summed up a green and lovely French landscape and this was noted as special for him. Being surrounded at times by those young minds and typing, the gentleman was keen to focus on how writing needed to be given scope to develop further.
There was another experience of noise, this time heard above certain objects that had been specifically laid out on a central table. Members and medium had all been sitting facing each other during the entire physical séance. Despite looking thoroughly into how the sounds, both the earlier and later experiences, neither could be attributed to anything having caused them as room based explanations from inside or outside of where the séance was held.
The séance was a mixture of laughter and a definitely lighter atmosphere at the start to a mid way point where a more thoughtful and deeper tone seemed to be felt by everybody. It was of interest that the mood appeared to mirror and match the content of the séance that was occurring at the time. In terms of evidence, the collectively heard, noises were physical and unexplained to the séance. Both the examples were felt by the séance to be responsive from spirit as they happened at reference times for particular personas. Validations could be received from sitters in regards to trance given messages, dialogue during these moments were witnessed but only in so far as affirmative and negative responses to spirit information relayed by the medium. These reports were felt to be evidence of interest to the investigation and were good indications of what took place during the séance.
