There can be some very varied ideas and concepts about what an investigation into a physical séance entails. In relevance to this particular investigation, the focus of the attention is based on physical and overt displays of what might be considered spirit responses or interaction. Objectivity is placed at the heart of the purposeful preparation and rigorous checks as for possible explanations for what, if any, activity has during the investigation of the physical séance been noted.
The room itself where the séance was held had been set out with specific and easily identifiable objects which would make noise, only if interacted with or touched. Members all sat in visible positions to one another and took their seats in the closed room.
The medium began the physical séance with a closed eyes trance. It was within the first few minutes that a lot of references came through, via the medium, about specific individuals who were pertinent to the séance.
It was collectively noted that there was a distinct conversational and light hearted tone to several of the spirit given messages. These times of speech, incorporated spirits speaking directly to recipient sitters and responses from them. The medium herself seemed happy and as she talked the atmosphere engaged everybody in smiles and laughter. It has to be said, that in terms of the investigation, checks could be done as according to the validation rate of the information links in the, at times, very personal messages.
A sighting – an outline of someone moving across the room was briefly seen. The expression and lines of a body were noted as they passed from the middle to one side of the room but where they went after that was not visible. There was however a loud cracking noise from the other side of the wall.
Smell – later on in the séance there was depicted as a pronounced and emphasised occurrence, a smell that was within a few seconds extremely noticeable. Members smelt the aroma and within a few minutes it was no longer traceable.
The medium talked of a male leading figure and gave information about someone thought to be a George Washington (February 22, 1732 – December 14, 1799) an American Founding Father, a political leader, military general, statesman, who also served as the first president of the United States (1789–1797). In the séance an anniversary of birth was noted for him as integral to how he believed certain principles and new concepts of evolution should be evoked. The male in spirit spoke about beginning with strong, evolution based principles and how in building people’s beliefs about views of the nation then a more cohesive approach could be taken to politics. Historically Washington commanded Patriot forces in the new nation’s vital American Revolutionary War, and led them to victory over the British. Washington presided at the Constitutional Convention of 1787, this established the new federal government. It was because of his specific type of leadership during the American Revolution, that he has been called the “Father of His Country”.
References came into the séance about a gentleman in spirit, a lively and jovial personality. Links were given about someone believed to be a Władziu Valentino Liberace (May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) an American pianist, singer and actor, child prodigy and the son of Polish and Italian immigrants. Italy was brought into the physical séance as an important mention for the gentleman in spirit. History was colourful, a gentleman in spirit, explained and he thought that the more tokens of affection that came about revealed more of someone as a person. A special individual thought of as a son, the spirit remarked upon and it was in the quieter, more thoughtful moments that he appreciated the significant people in his heart. Research after the séance showed that Liberace enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, including television, recordings, motion pictures and endorsements. At the height of his fame, from the 1950s to the 1970s, Liberace was the highest-paid entertainer in the world. He had established concert residencies in Las Vegas, and an international touring schedule. Liberace embraced a lifestyle of flamboyant excess both on and off stage, acquiring the nickname of “Mr. Showmanship”. In the séance there was a note from the members of there being a happy and cheeky atmosphere while the gentleman in spirit spoke.
The séance was extremely active during the progression of messages, sightings, collective claims and spirit speech. The times of activity were investigated as for potential explanations but none were found to have come from inside or outside of the séance room. As such, these particular points of activity were noted as unexplained. Please note, that today, the day whereby the blog is being published also marks the birthday anniversary of aforementioned George Washington.
