A physical séance is focused on the overt, visible and notable activity that might take place. In this respect it is first the occurrence of such activity that can be noted and then an investigation into possible causes for it that will determine if it is unexplained or not.
In a prepared and closed room medium and members joined for an investigation into a physical séance. The table had been laid with objects and everything was in full sight of all who attended. The medium went into a trance and within the first few minutes of the séance attention was given to what occurred.
The medium talked of what she could see, individuals in spirit were described and personal, in-depth messages were given to specific recipient members. During one of the messages, one of the sitters particularly mentioned sending her love directly to the speaking spirit and someone else dearly known to them. At that precise time two bright but small blue lights were seen. These lights could not be explained as caused by anything, at that time, inside or outside of the room. It is important, if possible, to be able to explain any occurrences that might be noticed while the séance is in progress. If no explanations can be found then the activity can be considered as unexplained activity.
There was a reference of a gentleman in spirit, particulars were given by the medium and speech was given regarding this person believed to be Julius Henry “Groucho” Marx (October 2, 1890 – August 19, 1977) an American comedian, writer, star of stage, film, radio, and television. He was known as a master of quick wit. He is widely considered one of America’s greatest and most gifted comedians. In the séance the man in spirit was seen to give a heavy and hearty pat on the back and he spoke happily about a happy birthday. Flowers squirting water he showed, he blew kisses and then he talked of an appreciation of the theatre and a love of the stage. Comedy, he said, was significant as a legacy and for generations. It helped to shape and express the public’s ability to relax. It allowed people to rest their problems and enjoy each other’s company. It was that to finish, the gentleman in spirit produced a bunch of flowers and red petals.
Noises were heard from objects that had been laid out on the table. Loud and distinct, the noises were interesting to note. Cracks and movement noises as if the objects were being touched and opened could be heard despite nobody being visible to have interacted with them.
It was a full and varied séance. The investigation gave ample opportunity to look into what was seen, heard and discussed by members. Both the visual and audio activity were, after investigation, classed as unexplained. There was a lot of participation from members in noting and verbally outlining what they had experienced during the séance.
