People could state that in almost anything that one does there is an element of subjectivity involved. It is imperative that if there is an investigation into an area of observation that requires objectivity then preparation be made as for ensuring that there is as much separation from subjectivity as can be attained.
In a closed room that had been checked and prepared, experienced members sat for the séance. On a table that had been laid out with carefully chosen objects there was much noticed noise that could be heard but not explained. Orbs could be seen directly near to sitters and in front of the faces of some of the members.
The séance had begun with several instances of recognition from sitters of the information relayed about specific spirits via the medium. Messages did accompany many of the spirits’ information and members could validate what was referred to them.
The medium talked about a male spirit, both seen and heard. Due to the information given it is thought that the spirit was Sir Norman Joseph Wisdom, OBE (4 February 1915 – 4 October 2010) an English writer, actor, a comedian and singer-songwriter best known for a series of comedy films produced between 1953 and 1966 featuring his hapless onscreen character that was often called Norman Pitkin. In the séance he talked about a love of freedom, cars and the idea of being able to have someone there to enthuse you on in life was very important to him. He was awarded the 1953 BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Film Roles following the release of Trouble in Store, his first film in a lead role. The cinema was one of the mediums where the male spirit spoke of as a big hit. It was because of the access he could have into people’s hearts and thoughts through the cinema that he became an established household persona in many countries, in Iran and Albania he was a welcomed name. The gentleman spoke of his great pride at having received a medal in life and the feeling that it awarded because of what it meant. Being able to bring humour to people’s lives was what got him in and out of the most difficult and anxious of times and it meant a lot to him. Kindness he referred to as a trait that people should never lose, if you did then you better find it quick because sometimes it was the only thing separating some from despair. It was interesting that the male spirit thanked everyone at the end of his speech, there was an expression of thanks and a wink.
There was a pause in the procedure of the séance and then the medium referred to a female in spirit who was spoken of as first with the name Elizabeth, later as more information came through it became associated with that of Ruth Elizabeth “Bette” Davis (April 5, 1908 – October 6, 1989) an American actress with Welsh ancestry of film, television and theatre. Regarded as one of the greatest actresses in Hollywood history, she was noted for her ability to have a very professional aptitude for her role as an actress and the willingness to play unsympathetic characters. She was reputed for her performances in a range of film genres, from contemporary crime to historical and period films and occasional comedies, although her greatest successes were her roles in romantic dramas. In the séance the lady was keen to talk about love through the lens. She spoke of her belief in the importance of impressions, what you saw was not always what you would receive. There were a few people who she talked of as trusted and as figures who she could rely upon. Films were vehicles for thoughts and those thoughts could be transferred into the public, it was by doing this that emotions could take centre stage in the hearts and minds.
It was that the séance was able to have an interesting discussion on what was noted as spirit speech and in messages. There were what was to many, intriguing overlaps, in what were issues of films and the impact they had on lives. Specifically there was some interest in the different approach the latter two spirits took to a similar industry and why it was that because of the appearance of both of them they both could be thought of and spoken about. The notes on the information, message and later research all went into this summary of the séance for this blog.
