Home circle.

Here is a summary of our home circle.

Home circle held 2nd May 2017.

A séance is controlled in that of the setting of the room, the equipment used and the members who can sit but unpredictable in terms of what may be noted as potential unexplained activity.

It was in the first part of the séance that many claims of noises were heard from the objects that had been laid out for younger spirits to use.  These noises were noticed as messages were being given about certain individuals in spirit to the members.  Messages could be validated and the noises were explored further but after the investigation there was nothing to suggest any objective equipment or person who could have set the sounds off.

Orbs were noticed during the investigation.  These blue, circular lights were seen several times and these were often as spirits were being identified as individuals to whom they were giving a message.  It is important to refer to the smells that were noted and these were distinct aromas that could be referenced and explained by specific members as loved foods of the people known to them in spirit.

The medium referred to a female spirit and someone, because of the information about her in the séance, thought to be Irene Joan Marion Sims (9 May 1930 – 27 June 2001), best known as Joan Sims, an English actress remembered for her roles in the Carry On films, including Carry On Nurse (1959), Carry On Cleo (1964) and Carry On Camping (1969).  In the séance the spirit talked of her younger years and having loved comedy in life.  She played Mrs. Wembley, the cook with a liking for sherry in On the Up (1990–92) and Madge Hardcastle in As Time Goes By (1994–98).

It was a little later in the séance when the medium talked of a male spirit, an actor and comedian.  It is thought that Owen John “Terry” Scott (4 May 1927 – 26 July 1994) an English actor and comedian who appeared in seven Carry On films is the gentleman who was mentioned.  He appeared in BBC one popular domestic sitcom Terry and June with June Whitfield.  In the séance he referred to children, to gardens and a love of tranquillity.  He mentioned having to wear a brace and how he admired those who persisted despite physical difficulty in life.

It was a séance that was full of messages, information and moments of unexplained activity.  There were interjections in proceedings from noises, sightings and speech from spirit.  It seemed as if while the activity could not be explained by anything physically causing it from inside or outside of the séance room, each of the forms of activity that had been noticed had their own meaning for members and for those who were mentioned in spirit.
