Home circle.

Here is a summary of our home circle.

Home circle held 28th November 2016.

A séance is often a timed and regulated experiment.  It is an occasion when objective, experienced members and medium can participate in an experience of what may be seen, sensed or heard from spirits.

In this séance several objects were put out for the younger spirits and it was interesting to note that these started to give off sounds from the beginning of the experiment in participation of spirits.  It was at this time that validated messages were given from the medium to members and tapping noises were heard around the room where the séance was held.

Orbs also known as unexplained lights were seen.  Members depicted these lights, not explained by anything from inside or outside of the séance room, near to where the sitters were seated.  Smells that could not be explained were noted and these were scents that seemed to be noted quickly by members and then seconds later could not be traced again.

The medium referred to a lady thought to be Jean Mavis Hodgkinson (11 October 1926 – 14 October 2016), in research it was later found that she is known by the stage name Jean Alexander, and is a British television actress.  She was best known to British television viewers as Hilda Ogden in the soap opera Coronation Street.  This role she played from 1964 until 1987, and also as Auntie Wainwright in the long-running sitcom Last of the Summer Wine from 1988 to 2010.  In the séance information about this lady came from her surname, acting and humour.  It was her role in Coronation Street that won her acclaim and she received a 1987 BAFTA TV Award nomination for Best Actress.

Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) an Irish playwright, poet, novelist and essayist.  It is thought that this gentleman was the male spirit next referenced by the medium.  After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London’s most popular playwrights and in the early 1890s was extremely notable.  He is remembered for his epigrams, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, his plays, as well as the circumstances of his imprisonment.  In the séance the spirit talked of his heritage, a particular novel and his love of being impetuous.

William Clark Gable (February 1, 1901 – November 16, 1960) an American film actor, often referred to as a leader in Hollywood is believed to be the male spirit that the medium talked of in the séance.   Gable began his career as a stage actor and appeared as an extra in silent films between 1924 and 1926, he progressed to supporting roles with a few films for MGM in 1931.  It was in the next year that he landed his first leading Hollywood role and became a leading man in more than 60 motion pictures.  The spirit referred to a specific motion picture that he had been in.  It was with a gentle attitude that he spoke of his sense of achievement in life and love for his children and grandchildren.

Laurence Kerr Olivier, Baron Olivier, OM (22 May 1907 – 11 July 1989) an English actor who lead much of the British stage of the mid-20th century is thought to be the person in spirit that the medium spoke about.  Having worked in films throughout his career, playing more than fifty cinema roles it was this same gentleman who late on in his career had considerable success in television roles.  In the séance the male spirit asked to have mentioned a lady by the name of Joan Ann Plowright, Baroness Olivier, DBE (born 28 October 1929), commonly known as Dame Joan Plowright, who is an English retired actress whose career has spanned over six decades.  As an actress she has won two Golden Globe Awards and a Tony Award and has been nominated for an Academy Award, an Emmy and two BAFTA Awards.  She is one of only four actresses to have won two Golden Globes in the same year.

It was a séance that was full of intrigue at the activity that was noted.  Explored and unexplained it was an active séance while messages were being given to members.  The taps, creaks and noises were heard before the medium spoke about three gentleman and a lady in spirit.  The information was vividly noted as particular mentions of individuals known to them and a loving message for a wife was given.  References of achievements were interspersed with speech.  A séance that seemed to have an overlapping theme of achievement and love for the people known to them, it was claimed that it was a sentimental experience for members and medium.
