A séance is as much about the summarisation, the exploration into the notes of what may have occurred as the investigation itself. It is important to be able to have a checked environment from which to base any observations. If any unexplained activity has been noted then it is imperative that these findings be researched as for explanations of why such instances should have been seen, heard, experienced or referred to in the séance.
It was a part way into the séance when the medium talked of several spirits. There were messages from individuals who had passed on to people in the séance. These links were particular and could be verified by sitters. At the time of these given messages Orbs were seen, these were unexplained small lights. There was nothing inside or outside of the room where the séance was held that could have explained the visible lights. Unexplained smells were also depicted as messages were given and noises of cracks could be heard from around and above where the members were seated.
The medium talked of a male spirit and references were made to someone thought to be John (24 December 1166 – 19 October 1216), also known as John Lackland (Norman French: Johan sanz Terre), a King of England from 6 April 1199 until his death in 1216. It has been noted that John lost the Duchy of Normandy to King Philip II of France, resulting in the collapse of most of the Angevin Empire and contributing to the subsequent growth in power of the Capetian dynasty during the 13th century. In the séance the medium talked of a gentleman who had been noted for his historical position. It was historically thought to be the baronial revolt at the end of John’s reign that led to the sealing of Magna Carta, a document sometimes considered to be an early step in the evolution of the constitution of the United Kingdom.
It was then through another link that the name of Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher, LG, OM, PC, FRS, FRIC (née Roberts; 13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013) a British stateswoman who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and the Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990 was given. A lady’s name linked to that of the husband of Baroness Margaret Thatcher and consequent information informed of her anniversary of birth. She was the longest-serving British prime minister of the 20th century and she was the first woman to have held the office. She became associated with her uncompromising politics and leadership style and as Prime Minister, she implemented policies that have come to be known to link with her role as leader. In the séance rule and leadership seemed to be important and a sense of how this authority led role influenced society was something that was linked to both the spirits who had been talked about.
The medium referred to a male spirit, information was linked to that of someone thought to be Hans Holbein the Younger (c. 1497 – between 7 October and 29 November 1543) a German and Swiss artist and printmaker who worked in a Northern Renaissance style. Notable as one of the greatest portraitists of the 16th century. He produced religious art and satire. He is said to have made a significant contribution to the history of book design. He is called “the Younger” to distinguish him from his father, Hans Holbein the Elder.
In the séance there was interesting and unexplained activity both seen and heard. It was as the members noted occurrences in the room that messages could be passed to them from spirits known to them. There was reference both to individuals who had been known to sitters and also to those who had a link to major times in history. Research, reference and experience all combined to give an intriguing sense of participation in what was an activity filled séance. It was a séance that was informative and insightful.
