A séance is where objective notation of any unexplained activity will take place. Often with a medium present, sitters will take part in a closed séance, this means a checked room will be agreed upon whereby only certain members can attend an investigation. The members will have been experienced individuals who know of what can happen in a séance or members who will have some experience of how a séance is investigated. There is a lot of prerequisite checks done before the séance can officially begin and any activity noted will have to be questioned, investigated and classified as unexplained before it is noted as actual verified unexplained phenomena.
It is important that a room is met with certain conditions, i.e there will be a low lit setting as it is far clearer to note any visible activity such as apparition, materialisation, Orbs and unexplained possible sighting with this type of lighting. Objects may be placed out because they are known to be good triggers for manipulation, sound, lights and are objects that are movement sensitive. While members can report experiences such as temperature fluctuations or independent visual, sense or heard activity, all encounters will have to be investigated as for further explanation into how they may have occurred.
In the séance the medium noted a male spirit. It was in the first few minutes of the investigation. There were several things to note, members had started to comment on seeing unexplained lights also known as Orbs, these small blue lights were seen in the room and in front of the sitters. There was a lot of reference to magical acts, the medium smiled as she talked of a larger gentleman who was tall and known for his loping gait. He wanted to be known in the séance as a father to his children and for an anniversary. Information came through about a lot of stages that he had experience of being on, the spirit had been and was in spirit, thought not for so much of the time, a comedian. Information obtained within the séance suggests that the spirit was of Thomas Frederick Cooper (19 March 1921 – 15 April 1984) a British prop comedian and individual who many people laughed with throughout his stage acts. March, Cooper said was an important time for him. Devon was a link he talked about and in research it has been learned that as a child he was taken to Devon to get away from the polluted city air. An individual who was respected by traditional magicians, he was famed for his red fez, and his comedic appearance in life. In the séance the spirit made a lot of people laugh, information, jokes and a statement about how life could be gave off a sense that in spirit he appreciated how full of wonder life was.
There was a few minutes where the temperature altered and then the medium spoke of a female spirit. It is thought that Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher, LG, OM, PC, FRS (née Roberts; 13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013) was the spirit to be next noted. The medium linked politics, the colour blue and a connection of leadership to this lady. The spirit is someone who was also noted in that of the last séance. Research about her shows that she was a British stateswoman and politician who was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and the Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. After the séance research seems to match with what was informed of this lady who was the longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century and is currently the only woman to have held the office. In spirit this lady talked of how she was a family person at heart and she knew how hard work could sustain success.
Family was integral to both spirits in the séance as they both linked with a love for people who were in their families. There was another unknown link that has since come up in research done based on the spirit information in the séance. A comment from spirit about a connection has come up in Mortlake which is actually where Sir Denis Thatcher, Bt (1915–2003), who was a businessman and husband of Margaret Thatcher, Margaret Thatcher herself, Baroness Thatcher (1925–2013), Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Tommy Cooper all were taken after they had passed from life.
It is of interest that this link has come up as it is a validation of what was put forward as evidence by spirit of information about them.
Two individuals Tommy Cooper and Margaret Thatcher who were not known for being put together in life, it is interesting that they were reported as seen in spirit in that of the one same séance. Families and a love for work did appear to be links that both spirits did mention through speech in the séance.
A man who loved the lights on the stage and a lady who took the lead in politics, both could be said as people who did lead in their own areas of work. It was a séance that did link unexplained activity with spirit reference. Anniversary of birth for one of the spirits was found to be only a short while from that of when the séance was held.
